Scribbles always wanted to be a star, she went to every drama club and amateur dramatics society audition available to her. Sadly, her first and only shot at the ‘bigtime’, as Annie (in Annie) ended badly when her red curly wig fell off on stage. She rethought her career in acting and decided her talents really lay in the circus, and then the kitchen, briefly at the zoo and finally the local dance studio. After dabbling in modern, tap and ballet, she discovered hip hop when she won a scholarship to train at idance studios....scholarship sounds a bit grand- she got cheap classes for sweeping the floor! At idance she went on to train in every conceivable hip hop style and earned a place with their dance company, Culture UK Shock with whom she performed at Sadlers Wells and in San Diego. She also began teaching the kids at the studio. She has been teaching ever since and works in partnership with idance running the UK Hip Hop Championships.
Attracted to waacking by the music and the freedom it allows the dancer; she has rediscovered her inner freestyler. Her adventures with the waacktitioners have only just begun and she looks forward to continuing to learn, teach and WERK!
